Project Title:
‘Follow The Journey’
Telly Award Winning Series
Client: Alpha USA
What Did They Want to Do?
Alpha asked us to follow five churches in New York City on their journey to run Alpha. Some had hosted multiple Alpha sessions, while others were just starting out—but all encountered something remarkable.
How Did Setter Studios Help?
Follow the Journey is an intimate, documentary-style film series spotlighting five diverse churches across New York City as they embark on running Alpha. Each episode provides an authentic glimpse into their unique challenges, growth, and triumphs while sharing the hope and transformation that unfolds through the process.
At its heart, this project isn’t just about production—it’s about people. By tracking these leaders in real time, the series captures what works, what doesn’t, and how faith and grace shape their stories in unexpected ways.
Production
Setter Studios spent five weeks in production in New York City across the year to capture this story as it unfolded. By embedding with churches in different boroughs, our team filmed in real time—allowing the authenticity of the journey to drive the narrative.
The result is a rare look behind the curtain: unpolished, unfiltered moments that reflect the true experience of running Alpha in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
Why This Project Matters for Future Clients
What stood out about Follow the Journey was not just the final film, but the process. Spending time on the ground with churches across New York allowed real stories to unfold naturally. That kind of patient, embedded approach is often what it takes to capture something genuine.
For another client, the takeaway is simple: when people see themselves and their experiences reflected honestly, they connect more deeply. A film can then move beyond promotion—it can inspire action, foster trust, and open doors for meaningful conversations.
The series also shows how a complex initiative, with many voices and moving parts, can be shaped into a clear, engaging narrative. That kind of storytelling can serve organizations of all kinds—whether the goal is to raise awareness, build community, or share a vision.
